The StarCraft II World Championship Series concluded at BlizzCon last month, but now we know a load more details about the competition next year, including the WCS Circuit which starts in January in Leipzig.
At Leipzig, as well as at the three other Circuit tournaments taking place at DreamHack events throughout 2018, the champion gets a direct seed into the Global Finals at the end of the year. The regional representation for each event is the same too, with four qualifying from Europe, four from North America, two from Latin America, two from Australia/New Zealand, two from China, and two from the Asia Pacific region.
There's also the WCS Korea to consider too, as the Global StarCraft II League enters its eighth year. The schedule for next year then will consist of three GSL seasons and two GSL Super Tournaments, with each of the former rewarding the champion with another direct seed to the Global Finals.
Three global events will also be taking place throughout the year, including the IEM Katowice tournament, which again rewards the winner with a place at the Global Finals and features a prize pool enhanced by the StarCraft II War Chest, available now (there'll be a second War Chest later in 2018 for the Global Finals prize pool). There's also a GSL vs. The World event scheduled for the middle of the year too, with more details revealed at a later date.
