Ubisoft has revealed that the 2022 Six Invitational will no longer be taking place in Canada this year, as it has in the past. As revealed in a Twitter post, due to new restrictions in Quebec, Canada, the major esports tournament is now set to take place in Sweden, on the same, initially planned dates.

The statement from Ubisoft says, "In light of renewed regulations and event restrictions in Quebec, Canada, hosting the Six Invitational 2022 there is no longer possible. Therefore, we have decided to move the location of the event to Stockholm, Sweden, where the event will take place at the same dates, from February 8 to 20, in a LAN environment following strict sanitary measures."

Ubisoft continued, "With the health and safety of our players, fans, staff, and partners as our top priority, and given the recent evolution of the pandemic, we have also decided to maintain a no live audience policy at the event."

It was also noted that with this change in mind, Ubisoft is providing opportunities for "selected streamers and content creators to provide an extra viewing experience of the competition on their own channels", meaning we can likely look forward to a few co-streams of the event taking place.

As for more details on the event, Ubisoft notes at the end of the statement that more information will be shared in the coming weeks.
