The parent organisation of the Rogue esports team and the London Royal Ravens Call of Duty League franchise, ReKTGlobal, has officially entered into an agreement to be acquired by the metaverse company, Infinite Reality.

As reported on by Forbes, the deal has come in at a mammoth $470 million, with Infinite Reality now valued at over $2 billion.

As this is simply an intent to acquire ReKTGlobal, at least until it has been approved, you might be wondering how this might affect Rogue and the Royal Ravens once completed. In the article, it's noted that not much will be changing for the esports brands anytime soon, but that when the deal is completed, ReKTGlobal's franchises will have access to Infinite Reality's Thunder Studios facility in California, which has been previously used for music videos and esports events. Likewise, there are not planned to be any layoffs in the ReKTGlobal staff.

Speaking about the acquisition, REKTGlobal founder and chairman Amish Shah said, "We're going to come together and our strategy is not going to change, it's just going to get bigger. So we want to be a 10, 20, $30 billion company and we think we can get there quicker [with Infinite Reality.] Staying standalone like, I think we could only get to one or two billion in the next three years, but doing this with John and crew we can get there quicker and faster."
