G2 Esports and Perkz accused of poaching LoL players

A new report cites incidents as fa...

The newly-revealed League of Legends European Championship (LEC) hasn't even begun yet, but VPEsports has reported on controversy happening with some of the teams already, which all has to do with G2 Esports and their player Luka 'Perkz' Perković.

The report says that several teams are making formal complaints to Riot Games about G2 esports trying to poach players, dating as far back as 2016. Perkz is involved because these sources say he contacts players on the team's behalf, allegedly via various forms of social media. The sources also add that he was responsible for getting in touch with Jesper 'Zven' Svenningsen and Alfonso 'Mithy' Aguirre at the end of 2016, while they were still at Origen, also apparently reaching out to H2K's Andrei 'Odoamne' Pascu too.

These claims have been backed up by several sources, according to VPEsports, despite G2 denying them. VPEsports even says they've seen the Skype conversations that verified these approaches, and that G2 tried to cover their tracks.

What's more is that there are also allegations that Kim 'Wadid' Bae-in and Petter 'Hjarnan' Freyschuss were approached directly by Perkz three weeks before free agency started, with Facebook and then Teamspeak being the preferred method.

VPEsports claims that evidence as well as statements from the players involved will be submitted to Riot Games to explain their transfers, including Elias 'Upset' Lipp.

"I don't know if all the blame will go on him [Perkz]," an alleged source explains, "but it wouldn't be fair if it did. I know that once he reaches out to the players Carlos [G2 Esports founder and owner Carlos "ocelote" Rodriguez] gets on the calls to finalize the deals. This is G2 Esports thinking they can get away with anything because they have been getting away with it for so long. The other teams have had enough."

When G2 were contacted by VPEsports though, they said: "No, Perkz has never contacted players under contract with other teams on the behalf of G2."

We don't know what punishment may follow if Riot choose to act, but what do you think should be the outcome?
