If you weren't aware, the first Overwatch League All-Star Weekend is starting on August 25, and now the official website for the competition has revealed more detail on what will be going down, including the All-Star skins.
On the Saturday a series of custom skill matches will take place, while on Sunday the Atlantic and Pacific All-Stars will face off in another match. Regarding the former, both teams will compete in a 3v3 best-of-three series in Lúcioball on the Busan Lúcioball Arena map. Each match will last five minutes, but if it's tied at the end of five minutes, then the next goal wins.
There's also a 6v6 Mystery Heroes game using standard settings in a best-of-three series on Ilios, Lijiang Tower, and Nepal, meaning players will be assigned a random hero at the start of each map, and then another every time they respawn.
Perhaps the most interesting is the Widowmaker 1v1 match though, which requires coaches to select their four best players with the hero, battlings head-to-head until there's one Atlantic and one Pacific champion, who will then face off against each other. "The winner for all matches prior to the final will be first player to reach five eliminations. The final will be decided by the first to seven eliminations. Eliminations are headshot only, and automatic firing will be disabled. There will be no capture points, but after 30 seconds player locations will be visible to both players. A match will result in a draw after five minutes. This mode will be played on Castillo (quarterfinals), Necropolis (semifinals), and Ecopoint: Antartica (final)," as the site explains.
Before the event both coaches will also draft teams of casters and analysts, with both teams fighting in a 6v6 best-of-three series, with OWL players helping call the game along with those casters that aren't taking part.
As for the main All-Star match on Sunday, both teams will compete using standard competitive settings, 6v6, with a full five-map match consisting of King's Row, Rialto, Horizon Lunar Colony, Route 66, and Ilios. All 18 players on the team must play at least one map, and subs can only be made between maps, with one coach per team helping manage the rosters and the tactics.
The legendary skins might be of interest too, as there's the 2018 Atlantic All-Star Tracer and the 2018 Pacific All-Star Genji (which you can see below). Both skins will be available for a limited time from August 17 to 27, and you can get each 300 Overwatch League Tokens.
