As reported by the British Esports Association, UK Prime Minister Theresa May has hosted a reception at 10 Downing Street this week for members of the UK's creative industries, among which were esports executives like Team Dignitas' general manager Michael 'Odee' O'Dell and ESL UK managing director James Dean.

At the event a fund of £3 million to support creative and cultural organisations in the north of England was announced, and overall there was a mix of people from across the creative industries all networking with each other, from big to small companies.

O'Dell said: "It was really cool to actually be invited somewhere like that. I didn't think think I'd ever end up there through esports, but I was, so there you go. Hopefully bigger things come from it."

Theresa May added: "Every day our creative industries fly the flag for Britain on the global stage. Every year our creative industries contribute £92 billion to the economy, providing work for more than two million people right across the country."

Do you think these kind of events are good for esports?
