Taco steps down from SK Gaming's CS:GO team

The doors are open for the future ...

SK Gaming's CS:GO roster has been one of the most successful teams in recent memory, having won competitions last year such as the Blast Pro Series, ESL Pro League Season 6 finals, and Epicenter, but now their player Epitácio 'Taco' de Melo has taken to TwitLonger to announce he's leaving the team.

"A few weeks ago, I noticed I wasn't happy anymore," he wrote. "A few days ago, I decided to look for that same happiness I used to feel before playing, and I wasn't feeling that anymore, even though it'd cost me the decision of leaving the team I helped succeed and turn into one of the best teams to play this game."

"During all this time, every second in the team I felt the outside pressure on me was always HEAVY and maybe this is one of the reasons why I came to this closure," he added.

It's not a bad legacy he's left behind though, as in 27 months he has won 13 trophies, participated in 21 finals, 10 semi finals, and as such adds that he leaves "with no regrets, no anger and no remorse. I leave, leaving the doors open."

A new report from ESPN Brazil (brought to us by Dot Esports) suggests that Gabriel 'FalleN' Toledo, Marcelo 'coldzera' David, and Fernando 'fer' Alvarenga will be joined by Alexandr 's1mple' Kostyliev in a brand new team, so perhaps we'll see that confirmed in the future.

Are you sad to see Taco go?
