ESL Gaming has announced that it has extended its deal with Maincast, so the pair can continue to bring Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, StarCraft II, Dota 2, and ESL Mobile broadcasts to fans in the CIS and Russia region until IEM Katowice in 2027 comes around.
This extension comes as the former deal comes to a close in 2023, and will see ESL Gaming's full portfolio of products available to fans in the region's local language. But more than this, as this extension will also serve as Maincast maintaining the exclusive broadcast rights to ESL's tournaments on Twitch in Russian and CIS languages until the deal comes to a close in 2027.
"Maincast is one of our biggest media partners and expertly localizes our competitions to fans all over the CIS region," said Frank Uddo, senior vice president of global media at ESL Gaming. "They are great to work with and we are particularly excited to see, through this seven-year partnership, how committed they are to significantly invest in esports long-term. It is a testament to how integral esports has become within the region and we look forward to building even more success in the future with them."
While the 2027 edition of IEM Katowice is still over five years away at this point, the 2022 edition of the tournament is only a couple of months out, with it set to start on February 15 and conclude on February 27.
