Market analyst Newzoo has just released its global esports report, featuring predictions for the future of esports, including figures for Gfinity, the esports organiser responsible for the Gfinity Arena in London as well as the Elite Series of competitions, soon to be entering Season 3.

Gfinity, for instance, is outperforming global figures with their growth in revenue of 64% and audience at 40%, which Newzoo said may well indicate that UK esports is catching up with world leaders. In terms of the Elite Series in particular, this grew 40% from Season 1 to 2, which may well have helped Gfinity's revenue to rise 64% in the last financial year report.

"Newzoo's revenue projections paint a healthy picture of a burgeoning cultural scene and an opportunity for savvy investors and commercial partners to be a part of a growing entertainment phenomenon," Gfinity CEO Neville Upton says. "The increasing number of 'occasional viewers' highlights that esports is now mainstream and it's only going to get bigger over the next five years as more top teams and superstars emerge. It's
the responsibility of companies like Gfinity to ensure that esports tournaments are as exciting and entertaining as the top sport and music events to maintain this mainstream growth."

Do you think Gfinity is one of the leaders in esports at the moment?
