Apex Legends might be a very new game in the battle royale space, but already teams have made their intentions clear to participate in the competitive scene for Respawn's title, as 100 Thieves has already signed players to their team, with Gen.G also revealing a full squad via a press release.

This roster has already competed at the ESL 3on3 Open Cup North America this past weekend, and consists of Chris 'Grimreality' Schaefer, Ted 'Silkthread' Wang, and Tim 'Dummy' Olsen, all of which have experience in other games like Overwatch and Team Fortress.

"We think Apex Legends is one of the most promising titles for esports, and we're excited to be able to find such a group of talented players that are committed to building a great team," said Arnold Hur, Chief Operating Officer at Gen.G Esports. "As the scene is still developing, we really debated about when we wanted to enter the scene, but when we met this group, we knew this was the right team for us as we loved that they were veterans of the fps scene, displayed both great mechanics and strategy, and had a professional team-first attitude."

"The team already has a ton of ideas that they want to put in play," added Nathan Stanz, General Manager of Gen.G Esports. "We're excited to get a chance to work with them and provide support so that together we can build a great team for years to come. Respawn / EA has made an incredible title that has lightning-in-a-bottle potential for esports, and we're proud we have such a great team to represent us as we continue to grow globally."

The Apex Legends team has access to all Gen.G resources like the LA headquarters coming soon, and we'll see how they perform as more competitions hopefully start popping up throughout the year.
