Faceit - the competitive platform that arranges multiple tournaments for games such as PUBG, League of Legends, and Dota 2 - has announced their 2019 plans for competitive PUBG, which all has to do with what they call the PUBG Showdown.
This monthly online tournament series sees teams of two fight for a piece of the $10,000 USD prize pool. This comes after Faceit added PUBG to their service back in September of 2018, and is only "the first phase of their 2019 PUBG event plan", according to the official press release.
The monthly event will work as follows:
. There will be four qualifiers per month, which will put 150 teams against each other in a two-round event. The top five teams from each qualifier will earn a place in the finals.
. The winners of the qualifiers and the finals are determined using a point system, which gives teams a score depending on where they placed and the amount of kills they got.
. The finals will be streamed by Faceit on their official Twitch channel, with the winners receiving their cut of the $10,000 prize pool.
As for rewards, it's not just the first place team will win something. For the qualifiers top teams will win Faceit points - Faceit's own currency which can be used to buy in-game items, PC hardware, and even Faceit merch - and In the finals, the $10,000 prize pool will be split amongst the top eight teams as follows:
1st Place: 4000$
2nd Place: 2700$
3rd Place: 1400$
4th Place: 800$
5th Place: 500$
6th Place: 300$
7th Place: 200$
8th Place: 100$
