Volcanic eruption threatens the Reykjavik LoL and Valorant LANs

A few days ago, Riot Games announced that the Valorant Champions Tour: Europe Stage 2 Masters and the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational would be taking place in Reykjavik, Iceland one after the other. However, the threat of a volcanic eruption from Mount Keilir seems to have put a damper on things, as experts from the Icelandic meteorological office say there are "strong signs" of an eruption.

This will be the first in-person LAN event for the European Valorant Champions Tour, and also marks a return to normality for League of Legends, however the recent seismic activity seems to suggest this will all be derailed. "We are not saying we have signs an eruption has begun," Kristín Jónsdóttir of the Icelandic meteorological office has stated to The Guardian, "but this looks like the type of activity we expect in the run-up to an eruption."

According to The Guardian, Víðir Reynisson of the Iceland civil defence force has also suggested that people should stop travelling to the Reykjanes Peninsula, meaning it is looking that the tournaments could be in jeopardy.

No word mentioned on any plans changing has been detailed by Riot just yet.

Thanks, GinX.
