Dreamhack and ESL announce merger

Two of the largest companies in esports, Dreamhack and ESL announced today that they will be merging, effective immediately. The move, as reported by ESTNN, will bring the companies together to form a new esports company called ESL Gaming, built to pull the best of both organisations to benefit the esports world.

ESL Gaming Co-CEO Craig Levin commented on the merger saying; "Through maximum cooperation and collaboration, and the melding of some of the best creative and visionary gaming minds in the industry, we will, together, continue to advance the innovation that drives this space via the most exceptional products and events."

Known previously for their work in creating some of the largest events in esports, Dreamhack is a titan of the LAN scene. On the other hand, ESL is known for their huge CS:GO series, which attract some of the largest audiences in the industry. The companies of which have been making stirs in other esports scenes will be looking to build out their reach as ESL Gaming becomes a more distinguished brand.

"With ESL, we will be able to offer a more tailored approach for both our community and our partners across all regions through an array of gaming and esports opportunities, all while creating impactful and memorable experiences" said Marcus Lindmark, Co-CEO of Dreamhack. "The future of gaming is now, and we are excited to create the future together."

With the creation of ESL Gaming, the esports world becomes even more exciting. It will be interesting to see what the company looks to create as their first event or tournament.
